The Sacramento Press Club has contracted with the CNPA Services Inc. to manage the organization. CSI takes over for longtime Executive Director Kathy Beasley, who is happily retiring the post after 30+ years as an active member of the Press Club. The new partnership gives the Press Club a permanent office location and access to a staff that provide event planning, membership, communications and legal support.
As part of this collaboration, the Press Club is co-sponsoring the California Newspaper Publishers Association Government Affairs Day on February 3, along with the California Black Media and the National Association of Hispanic Publishers. Legislative leaders and Gov. Jerry Brown have been invited to speak at the event, which is followed by a cocktail reception that is open to all GA Day attendees, who will get a chance to mingle with the state’s legislators and constitutional officers.
