Human rights attorney and advocate Malika Saada Saar has a long list of accomplishments, including leading the effort to shut down Craigslist sex ads that trafficked children, working to end the federal practice of shackling pregnant women in U.S. prisons and advocating for millions of dollars in federal funding for at-risk families. In addition to her title as Special Counsel on Human Rights at The Raben Group, Saada Saar is Director of the Human Rights Project for Girls (Rights4Girls), which focuses on gender-based violence against young women and girls in the U.S. and a member of the board of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Human Rights. The Obama White House selected her to serve on its Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS.

Now Saada Saar has launched an effort called No Such Thing, a campaign to end the use of the term “child prostitute.” Please join the Sacramento Press Club as we welcome Malika Saada Saar to discuss her work helping some of the most vulnerable.
